Adjunct Instructor Sound Reinforcement (Pooled Position)
Position Summary
We are seeking qualified adjuncts for the Music, Performing Arts and Music Technologies Department to teach MUS:251 Sound Reinforcement. This class introduces students to the set-up and use of equipment for various live sound events ranging from musical performances to musical theater. Students learn first-hand about sound system set up and operation. Sound Reinforcement provides students a well-rounded and practical audio education that prepares them for professional work in the audio industry. All adjunct faculty positions have as their primary objective to create a dynamic teaching/learning environment for our students, while contributing service to the college. Adjunct faculty teach assigned courses in alignment with the course description and course outline established by the department.
Qualifications - Education
A Master’s Degree in Music is required.
Qualifications - Experience
- Prior college or university teaching experience preferred, as is evidence of scholarly and/or professional activities.
- Experience with sound reinforcement for music and dance concerts, speaking events, and musical theater.
Qualifications - Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developments and technologies in related fields of specialization.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of students.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
