About the role
Tarleton State University, a distinguished Doctoral National Comprehensive University, invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Social Work.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
- Teach up to six (6) semester credit hours in their respective disciplines, delivering instruction in person, through approved instructional modalities, or as necessitated by student demand.
- Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
- Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
- Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
Requirements
- Earned masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline, and two years post-MSW experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the discipline or a closely related field from an accredited university with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
- Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level.
Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for undergraduate and graduate-level instruction.
- Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner.
