Position Summary
Kellogg Community College (KCC) seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach transfer degree courses in disciplines such as Anthropology (immediate need), History, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Political Science, and Service-Learning. The instructor will provide face-to-face instruction at the main campus or regional centers, ensuring course objectives are met. This role reports to the Chair of Social Science and Integrative Learning and may include administrative duties such as advising students, preparing course materials, and attending departmental meetings.
Location Overview
Battle Creek, Michigan, is a community of ~54,000 residents, located along I-94, within 30 minutes of Kalamazoo and Lansing, and under 3 hours from Detroit, Chicago, and Indianapolis.
Physical Demands
Teaching responsibilities may require walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, lifting materials (8–45 lbs), and occasional travel to regional sites.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the discipline to be taught or a Master’s with at least 18 graduate credits in the discipline.
- Teaching experience.
- Must be a resident of Michigan or Indiana.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the community college level.
Salary
Based on current Board-approved rate.
