Adjunct Instructor - Sculpture

About the role

Brookdale Community College seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to teach Sculpture for the Fall 2025 semester.

Responsibilities

• Introduce students to the fundamentals of three-dimensional artmaking, emphasizing exploration of form, materials, and techniques within a contemporary context.
• Provide foundational instruction in 3D concepts, including form, space, volume, and composition.
• Introduce concepts of sculptural form and aesthetics, connecting historical and contemporary sculptural practices.
• Ensure and enforce studio safety procedures when working with tools and equipment.
• Develop a course syllabus addendum aligned with department standards, including objectives, outcomes, and grading criteria.
• Hold office hours to support students outside of class.

Requirements

• Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Sculpture.
• Relevant experience and expertise in sculpture processes and techniques.
• Ability to effectively teach fundamental 3D concepts and the safe use of relevant tools and materials.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to teaching excellence.

Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations

• Prior teaching experience at the community college level.
• Experience with diverse student populations.
• Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
