Adjunct Instructor (Pool) - Applied Exercise Science
Position Summary
Austin Peay State University is currently seeking part-time, temporary, adjunct instructors in the area of applied exercise science. Seeking an individual with expertise in anatomical kinesiology, exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, sport nutrition, and research in exercise science. The Department of Health & Human Performance serves approximately 600 majors in five undergraduate concentrations: Applied Exercise Science, Health, Public Health Care Management, Human Movement, and K-12 Teaching, In addition, approximately 60 students are in the Master of Science program: Sport and Wellness Leadership; Public Health Education; and Master of Healthcare Administration.
About the role
The successful candidate will teach courses in the areas of anatomy, physiology, strength and conditioning, sport nutrition, and research methods in exercise science. They will also be expected to engage in scholarly activities such as publishing research findings and presenting at conferences.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in anatomy, physiology, strength and conditioning, sport nutrition, and research methods in exercise science
- Engage in scholarly activities such as publishing research findings and presenting at conferences
- Participate in departmental committees and professional organizations
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices in the field of exercise science
Requirements
- PhD in Exercise Science or related field
- Experience teaching at the college level
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Exercise Science or related field
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Experience with online course delivery platforms
Skills

Pay
The pay range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is flexible and can vary based on course needs and departmental requirements. Typically, adjunct instructors are expected to teach one or two courses per semester.
