About the Role
The Department of Political Science seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach PSCI 2306 during the Fall 2026 semester. This introductory undergraduate course provides students with a foundation in the institutions of government, with particular emphasis on the U.S. and Texas Constitutions. The course will be taught in person at the UNT Denton campus.
The instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering course instruction, evaluating student work, maintaining required academic records, communicating with students, holding appropriate office hours, and complying with departmental and university policies and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver course instruction for PSCI 2306.
- Evaluate student work and maintain academic records.
- Communicate with students and hold office hours.
- Comply with departmental and university policies and deadlines.
Requirements
- A master’s degree in political science with outstanding teaching experience in foundational-level Political Science courses, OR
- A master’s degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate hours in Political Science, with outstanding teaching experience in lower-level Political Science courses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Political Science or Ph.D./MA in Political Science, or equivalent, including 18 graduate hours in Political Science.
- Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
- Excellent communication skills.
