Adjunct Instructor- Physical Therapy

Position Summary

This is an in-person, synchronous position that may include morning, afternoon or evening classes depending on instructional needs. This position involves delivering high-quality instruction, fostering student engagement, and contributing to the academic excellence of the program.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare syllabi and deliver curriculum appropriate for the course(s) assigned.
  • Facilitate engaging classroom and laboratory sessions that promote critical thinking and practical skills.
  • Ensure adherence to accreditation standards.
  • Maintain effective and timely student assessment and feedback.
  • Manage and foster an inclusive educational environment to serve all learners.
  • Maintain student attendance records in accordance with university policy.
  • Submit grades on time.
  • Demonstrate professionalism with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Timely attendance at all required class periods and other program activities (if required).
  • Complete all required training, including training on LMS and testing software.
  • Collaborate with other faculty to enhance course materials and contribute to program development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Earned terminal clinical doctoral degree in physical therapy (DPT or t-DPT).
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice physical therapy in Kansas.
  • At least one year of full-time licensed work as a physical therapist in the United States.
  • Ability to teach on campus in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Prior to Employment

  • Experience teaching in a college/university program.
  • Specialization certification from American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS).
