About the role
The Director of Human Resources at Oglethorpe University is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws.
Responsibilities
- Oversee recruitment processes to ensure compliance with legal requirements and to attract a diverse pool of candidates.
- Manage employee relations to maintain a positive workplace environment and resolve conflicts.
- Administer and manage benefits programs to support employee well-being and retention.
- Evaluate and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with university goals and objectives.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to lead and mentor HR professionals.
- Experience with talent acquisition systems and software.
- Familiarity with ADA and EEO regulations.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
$75,000 - $85,000 annually.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
