About the role
The Adjunct Instructor of Music–Saxophone position at Millikin University is a part-time, renewable role beginning August 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach applied lessons (classical & jazz)
- Teach weekly studio classes to Millikin students
- Additional teaching assignments in the Millikin Community Arts Academy
Requirements
- Master’s degree required
- Documented history of professional activity in performance (solo, chamber, orchestral, jazz)
- Evidence of successful teaching
- Ability to attract and retain students
Qualifications
- Experience in performance (solo, chamber, orchestral, jazz)
- Successful teaching record
- Ability to engage students in professional experiences
Skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Strong organizational and time management skills
