Adjunct Instructor - Obstetrics

About the role

The City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing (CCCSON) program prepares nursing students for the role of the professional registered nurse. CCCSON combines nursing theory and practices with general education. Students are provided clinical experiences and caring for individuals for all ages, through skills lab, simulation, and clinical settings throughout Chicago and surrounding suburbs.

Responsibilities

• Create courses aligned with learning outcomes and promote active student participation.
• Foster a learning environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and problem-solving.
• Employ various formative and summative assessments to ensure student learning and attainment of course objectives.
• Support students in achieving academic, personal, and career goals while fostering a safe and respectful environment.
• Present effective instruction based on approved course syllabi and hold weekly student conference times.

Requirements

• Pursuant to the City Colleges of Chicago Credential Guidelines for the 2024/25 Academic Year.
• A Master’s degree in Nursing (Obstetrics) required.
• A current unencumbered Illinois RN license required.
• At least 2 years' experience in clinical nursing practice required.
• Knowledge of Brightspace Learning Management System or similar preferred.
• Prior experience with online teaching (via Zoom) and/or online teaching certification strongly preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse groups.
• Experience with a diverse, multi-lingual student population desired.

Qualifications
