SUNY Ulster is currently accepting applications for part-time adjunct teaching assignments in the Cisco-based Network Administrator A.A.S. program. Priority screening date: May 29, 2026.

About the role

Coverage is sought for two courses:

  • NET202 Advanced Router Configuration (August 24 – October 13, 2026)
  • NET206 Configuring LAN Switches (October 14 – December 7, 2026)

Both courses meet face-to-face on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30–9:00 pm on the main Stone Ridge campus. Each course runs for seven weeks. The adjunct instructor will provide Cisco networking instruction under the general supervision of the Networking Coordinator in the STEM Department, in accordance with established course syllabi and college policies. Course descriptions are available in the SUNY Ulster Catalog.

Responsibilities

  • Commit to meeting on campus during each scheduled class session and teaching or conducting learning exercises for the entire time period.
  • Contact the appropriate division chair or administrator in advance to arrange for unavoidable absences.
  • Provide each student and the academic department with a Course Outline derived from the official course syllabus at the beginning of the course, including contact information, topics covered, and assessment methods as per departmental guidelines.
  • Accurately maintain required class records on attendance, withdrawal, and grading.
  • Submit all necessary reports (attendance, grade reports, roll books, class information sheets) by their due dates and certify their accuracy.
  • Comply with all institutional policies, procedures, and deadlines.
  • Give careful attention to all departmental and administrative communications by frequently checking your SUNY Ulster email.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in networking or a closely related field.
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably at a community college.
  • Experience with CISCO networking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with the Brightspace learning management system.
  • CISCO networking certifications.

Pay

$1049.00 per contact hour.

Schedule

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30–9:00 pm.
  • NET202: August 24 – October 13, 2026.
  • NET206: October 14 – December 7, 2026.
