About the role

The Adjunct Instructor will teach MTP 125 – Foundations of Massage Therapy II during the Spring 2026 semester. This course builds on foundational massage therapy skills and introduces advanced approaches such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, cross-fiber friction, and specific-tissue massage. Instruction includes both lecture and lab components.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in both lecture and lab settings.
  • Provide students with timely, constructive feedback through assessments and evaluations.
  • Prepare and facilitate lab activities while ensuring compliance with lab safety standards.
  • Submit required instructional materials, including syllabus, attendance records, and gradebook.
  • Maintain current Illinois Massage Therapist licensure.
  • Utilize existing course materials or develop new content in collaboration with the program coordinator.
  • Support and accommodate students with special needs per College policies.

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Current Illinois Massage Therapy License. Completion of at least 30 college credit hours beyond massage therapy training (official transcripts required).
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of two years of professional massage therapy practice. Experience with the techniques covered in this course in a clinical setting. Prior teaching experience preferred.
