Adjunct Instructor, Life Sciences

Major Duties & Responsibilities

• Instruction, course preparation, developing instructional materials, and grading
• Providing weekly office hours to support students

• Excellent communication (verbal/written), interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe, Office 365, OneDrive, and Zoom

Education And Experience

• Possess an advanced degree or relevant experience in the field of instruction
• Ideal candidates will have excellent subject knowledge, teaching skill, and prior experience working with students bound for graduate or professional schools

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

Additional Information

• The part-time Adjunct Instructor positions in the Department of Life Sciences are based in Albany, NY.
• The duties and responsibilities require consistent, in-person collaboration and interaction with our community, and all work is expected to be performed on-site, except for the online graduate recitation course, which may be delivered remotely.
