Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Instruction, course preparation, developing instructional materials, and grading
- Providing weekly office hours to support students

- Excellent communication (verbal/written), interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Adobe, Office 365, OneDrive, and Zoom
Education And Experience
- Possess an advanced degree or relevant experience in the field of instruction
- Ideal candidates will have excellent subject knowledge, teaching skill, and prior experience working with students bound for graduate or professional schools
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Additional Information
- The part-time Adjunct Instructor positions in the Department of Life Sciences are based in Albany, NY.
- The duties and responsibilities require consistent, in-person collaboration and interaction with our community, and all work is expected to be performed on-site, except for the online graduate recitation course, which may be delivered remotely.
