Adjunct Instructor: Honors College
The Honors College at the University of North Texas seeks qualified individuals to teach HNRS 1000: First Year Seminar. This position is open for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters.
About the Role
The Honors College aims to help approximately 2,000 undergraduate students enhance their UNT experience through in-class and extracurricular activities that go beyond the standard curriculum. Members of the Honors College may enroll in Honors courses, engage in undergraduate research, participate in Honors College programming, live in Honors College housing, and enjoy other membership benefits. The goal is to provide a strong foundation for students to pursue graduate studies and successful careers.
UNT is a diverse campus with multiple languages spoken, welcoming candidates with experience in serving Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and/or proficiency in Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or Yoruba.
Responsibilities
- Teach HNRS 1000: First Year Seminar
- Engage in Honors College programming and activities
- Work with Honors College students
- Provide support to students in need
Requirements
- Masters degree or completion of 18 hours of graduate level coursework towards a masters degree
- Previous experience working with Honors College students
- Experience in higher education including student life, admissions, or academics
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Qualifications
- Experience teaching college-level courses
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
