About the role

The Department of Geography and the Environment at the University of North Texas seeks a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach GEOG 1710: Earth Science during the Fall 2026 semester.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver course instruction
  • Evaluate student work
  • Maintain required academic records
  • Communicate with students
  • Hold appropriate office hours
  • Comply with departmental and university policies and deadlines

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in geography, earth science, geology, environmental science, or a closely related field
  • Or a master’s degree in another field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a discipline relevant to the course
  • Prior college-level teaching experience is required

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective instruction, communicate course material clearly, and support undergraduate student learning
  • Experience using Canvas or a comparable learning-management system is preferred
