About the role

The Department of Economics seeks a qualified individual to serve as an adjunct instructor to teach an in-person section of our history of economic thought course in the Fall 2026 and/or the Spring of 2027. The focus of the course is the development of economic thinking from early philosophers through development of the classical and neoclassical schools of thought. The course is an upper-level elective and enrollment is usually between 25-40 students.

Responsibilities

  • Teach an in-person section of the history of economic thought course in the Fall 2026 and/or the Spring of 2027.
  • Develop and deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments aligned with the course objectives.
  • Engage students in discussions and provide feedback on their progress.
  • Maintain regular communication with students and colleagues.

Requirements

  • MA or MS in Economics for undergraduate courses; Ph.D. in Economics for graduate courses.
  • Two years of teaching experience at a university or community college including previous experience teaching a history of economic thought class.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching a history of economic thought class.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to teach effectively in an online and/or hybrid format.
  • Experience with workforce-integrated learning.

$4,641.48 FTE
