About the role

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is accepting applications for the part-time position of Adjunct Instructor for the Early Technical College Machine Tool Technology class at the Clarksville Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person theory and hands-on skills instruction to dual-enrolled high school students.
  • Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual student progress.
  • Maintain student records in the college’s student records management software.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Submit timely reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in the Machine Tool field.
  • High degree of knowledge in blueprint reading, shop theory, precision measuring, technical math.
  • Organization and communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher.
  • Good character and mature attitude.
  • Willingness to remain current in the field of instruction.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships.

General Duties

The Adjunct Instructor in the Early Technical College Machine Tool Technology class is responsible for providing in-person theory and hands-on skills instruction to dual-enrolled high school students. Areas of instruction include blueprint reading, shop theory, precision measuring, technical math, CAD, safety, basic metallurgy, etc.

Schedule

Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. between August and May each year. Scheduled class hours are 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is not a remote work position.

Pay

SALARY: $35.00 per hour. Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
