Job Duties

  • Teach courses via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned.
  • Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses as required.
  • Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract.
  • Regularly check your VSCC email and your departmental mailbox.
  • Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
  • Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar.
  • Complete required College trainings.
  • Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines.
  • Advise the Department Chair at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class.
  • Attend meetings as requested by the Department Chair and/or Dean.
  • Comply with all of the College’s and TBR’s policies and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a computer information technology-related discipline from an accredited institution.
    • -OR-
    • Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution and demonstrated competencies in computer information technology.
    • Computer information technology-related disciplines include but are not limited to programs/majors such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Decision Science, Information Science, Information Management, Information Systems and Technology Management.
    • Demonstrated competencies can be documented through one or more IT-related certifications, such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Cisco CCNA and/or at least two years of relevant work experience.
    • Required qualifications plus IT-related industry certifications.
    • Colligate level teaching experience.
    • Master's degree in a qualifying field from an accredited institution; OR a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in a qualifying field from an accredited institution.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Pay Rate

    $675 - $800 per credit hour

Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring and summer.
