About the Role

As an Adjunct Instructor at Palm Beach State College, you will support the administration and delivery of academic programs. Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, interpret, and execute administrative procedures and practices, including developing and maintaining manuals regarding the College's policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
  • Analyze class and program needs of the College.
  • Determine and recommend the retention or deletion of courses.
  • Develop and coordinate program and course schedules, faculty assignments, and test dates.
  • Maintain a calendar to track these schedules and adjust as required.
  • Assist students and program curriculum, program and course reviews, and articulation activities.

Requirements

  • Must have a Law Degree (JD).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
  • Ability to utilize Canvas Learning Management System and other instructional technologies.
  • Ability to interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Ability to reach and grasp objects.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Use of video display terminal.
  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to communicate information orally and in writing.
  • Ability to receive and understand information through oral and written communication.
  • Ability to proofread and check documents for accuracy.
  • Must have the ability to work a fluctuating schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Education Credential Requirements

Degrees earned in the United States must be conferred by an accredited institution of higher education recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Degrees earned outside the United States must be validated by an organization belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). An evaluation report from an accrediting organization must be attached prior to the application closing date.

Transcripts for Adjunct positions must either be an official copy, a college-stamped student copy, or a non-web based unofficial transcript, scanned into an electronic format and attached to the application. Transcripts produced through web-based student systems will not be accepted. Applications without attached copies of official transcripts or non-web based unofficial transcripts will not be considered.

Pay

Standard hourly rates vary based on the assigned course level and educational credentials.
