Adjunct Instructor
Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit
The UNC Adams School of Dentistry Division of Comprehensive Oral Health houses several disciplines including, Periodontology, Dental Hygiene, Comprehensive Dentistry, Operative Dentistry/BioMaterials, Prosthodontics, and Endodontics. The Generalist discipline focuses on oral health and hygiene through preventive and restorative services.
Position Summary
Provide instruction in pre-clinical courses and predoctoral clinics, as defined by the Department Chair in consultation with the predoctoral and program directors. This part-time position is anticipated to work approximately one (1) day per week (0.2 FTE).
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
- Candidates must have a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS / DMD) degree or equivalent, and be eligible for a North Carolina dental license or instructor license.
- Minimum of five years of experience in educating dental students in pre-clinical and/or clinical settings, or minimum of five years of experience in private general practice, or completion of an advanced dental education program.
- Candidates must demonstrate excellent clinical credentials, supervisory, organizational, mentoring, customer service, written and verbal communication skills, and a strong background in all aspects of general dentistry, including provision of care to individuals with special needs.
- Candidates should have experience in organizational and interpersonal skills and leadership.
