Adjunct Instructor - Architecture & Design

Alfred State’s Department of Architecture and Design is seeking adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses (lectures, labs, and/or studios) in architecture and interior design. A strong emphasis is placed on industry-standard software—Autodesk Revit, Rhino 3D, and the Adobe Creative Suite—alongside analog methods of making. Candidates should demonstrate a multidisciplinary approach to design education and be prepared to teach both software tools and traditional design/production techniques.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate lecture, lab, and/or studio courses in architecture and interior design.
• Instruct students in Autodesk Revit, Rhino 3D, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant software.
• Integrate analog and digital design methods into coursework.
• Develop and produce construction documents as part of the curriculum.

Requirements

• Master of Architecture degree or equivalent; Bachelor of Architecture with significant professional experience and/or licensure will be considered.
• Preference for candidates who can teach on campus; hybrid instruction may be considered for working professionals.
• Prior teaching experience in an NAAB-accredited program is favorable but not required.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must already possess employment authorization.

Pay

Adjunct rates start at $1,836 per lecture credit and $1,377 per lab credit.
