Prairie View A&M University’s Department of Biological Sciences is accepting applications for a part-time adjunct faculty position beginning Fall 2026.
About the role
The adjunct instructor will teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in Anatomy and Physiology and related biology subjects for both majors and non-majors.
Responsibilities
- Teach Anatomy and Physiology I and II or other related courses to major and non-major students.
- Commit to excellence in teaching and maintain regular office hours.
- Advise students before or after class, by appointment, or via electronic communication.
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Fulfill assessment requirements according to Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Perform other teaching duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctorate (Ph.D., PharmD, MD, O.D., or D.V.M.) in a relevant area of Biology.
- Ability to teach biology at the undergraduate college level.
- Ability to prepare and implement teaching laboratories.
- Ability to use instructional technology and course learning management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of experience teaching biology at the undergraduate college level.
- Experience in preparation and implementation of teaching laboratories.
- Expertise in instructional technology and course learning management systems.
