Prairie View A&M University’s Department of Biological Sciences is accepting applications for a part-time adjunct faculty position beginning Fall 2026.
About the role
The adjunct instructor will teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in Anatomy & Physiology and related biology subjects for both majors and non-majors.
Responsibilities
- Teach Anatomy & Physiology I and II, Microbiology, or other assigned biology courses.
- Hold regular office hours and advise students before/after class, by appointment, or via electronic communication.
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Fulfill assessment requirements per Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation standards.
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Perform additional teaching duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctorate (Ph.D., PharmD, MD, O.D., or D.V.M.) in a relevant area of Biology.
- Ability to teach undergraduate biology courses and prepare laboratory exercises.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and course learning management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of undergraduate teaching experience in biology.
- Experience preparing and implementing teaching laboratories.
- Advanced expertise with instructional technology and learning management systems.
