Tarleton State University has four distinct campuses located in Stephenville, Fort Worth, RELLIS-Bryan, and Waco, along with a robust online community. About the Role

These part-time Adjunct Faculty positions support growing student enrollment for the 2025-2026 Academic Year at the Stephenville, Fort Worth, and Waco campuses. Successful candidates may teach up to six (6) semester credit hours in disciplines such as Agricultural Services and Development, Agricultural Education, Agricultural Communication, Agricultural Mechanics, and International Agriculture. Instruction may be delivered in person, through approved modalities, or as necessitated by student demand. Adjunct faculty will also hold office hours and provide student support. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate and/or graduate students, including general education core curriculum.
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, and papers.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.
• Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
• Provide academic support and guidance through office hours, assignment feedback, and mentoring.
• Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.

Requirements

• Earned master’s degree in the discipline or a closely related field from an accredited university, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Earned doctorate/terminal degree in the discipline or a closely related field from an accredited university, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Previous online teaching experience at the collegiate level.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for undergraduate and graduate-level instruction.
• Written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching activities.
• Ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner.

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis for the 2025-2026 Academic Year sub-terms.
