Merrimack College’s School of Health Sciences is seeking adjunct faculty to teach a graduate-level Food Service Management course during the Fall 2026 semester.

Schedule

Classes meet in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:20 AM to 12:10 PM. The semester runs from August 31 to December 18, 2026.

About the Course

This graduate-level course examines the principles and practices of foodservice management within healthcare, educational, community, and commercial settings. Students develop the knowledge and skills necessary to manage foodservice systems that deliver safe, high-quality, cost-effective, and nutritionally appropriate meals.

Through case studies, simulations, and applied projects, students learn to integrate evidence-based management strategies to improve operational efficiency and enhance client and patient outcomes while meeting organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lecture and laboratory instruction in a classroom setting
  • Organize and supervise laboratory sessions
  • Provide students with a comprehensive syllabus
  • Administer exams and grade assignments
  • Employ effective teaching strategies that promote positive student learning

Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • Registered Dietitian credential
  • Minimum of two years of college teaching experience
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check

Pay

  • Minimum $5,000 per 4-credit lecture course
  • Minimum $3,750 per lab section

Actual pay offered will be determined based on candidate qualifications, prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
