Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
- Beging and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
- Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.
- Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
- Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.
- Meting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.
- Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in a qualifying field or Master’s degree or higher with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields or Bachelor's degree in a qualifying field with two or more of the following:
- Documentation of professional certification (national, regional or state)
- Documentation of professional employment
- Documentation of teaching excellence

Pay Rates
- Less than Bachelor's degree: $500 per credit hour
- Bachelor's degree: $525 per credit hour
- Master's degree: $550 per credit hour
- Master's plus 30 semester hours (ABD): $575 per credit hour
- Doctorate: $600 per credit hour
