Responsibilities
- Supervising students in the clinical setting;
- Guidance in completing assignments such as daily clinical worksheets, concept maps, and care plans;
- Knowledge of Medication card system, and conducting student evaluations;
- Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter and an awareness of new developments in the field;
- Integrates didactic content into the student(s) clinical assignment.
- Communicate with course faculty regularly to track student progress or to develop performance improvement plans to support student learning;
- Responsible for conducting the mid-semester and final clinical evaluations;
- Assigns, supervises, plans experiences, and evaluates students in practice learning environments based on course and program student learning outcomes;
- Provides support, guidance, and instruction on all aspects of patient care while at the clinical facility or laboratory classroom;
- Demonstrate procedures and patient care in clinical or laboratory nursing settings;
- Provide feedback to the assistant dean of nursing, program director, and clinical placement coordinator on the appropriateness of the health care agency in terms of teaching/learning environments for students;
- Provides feedback to the course faculty on student preparedness regarding curriculum;
- Attend course-specific orientation on campus with the Assistant Dean of Nursing and course faculty;
- Participate in clinical faculty mentoring as identified by the Assistant Dean of Nursing and course faculty;
- Participate in the Program’s continuous improvement efforts, which include BORN and ACEN requirements;
- Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by the program;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSN for Practical Nursing and MSN for Associate Degree Nursing;
- A minimum of two years of full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five years and evidence of clinical competence in the area(s) of clinical instruction;
- Clinical teaching experience;
- Current unencumbered Massachusetts RN license.

- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- Recent clinical practice in relevant areas: Labor and Delivery and Postpartum unit;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of faculty, staff, and student body.
