Responsibilities

  • Teach classes as assigned by designated supervisor.
  • Prepare appropriate lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course outcomes.
  • Develop a professional relationship with students and staff that encourages teacher/student communication.
  • Assist in the recruitment of students, as appropriate.
  • When agreed upon, assist in the evaluation of curriculum and instructional performance.
  • Represent the college in a professional manner throughout the communities and college district by promoting a positive public image.
  • Complete all required annual CMC training courses (e.g., Title IX, Digital Accessibility, and Data Security and Privacy).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

An equivalent or applicable combination of education and/or experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, with teaching experience in continuing education or community education.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with diverse students, employees, and community members.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.

Pay

Non-credit Community Education compensation is based on Pay Levels ranging from 1-5, determined by the campus supervisor. Pay ranges from $20-$60 per hour, varying by expertise and evidence in the instructional area.

Working Conditions

  • Constant sitting; occasional walking, standing, and driving.
  • Occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms and use of finger movements.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Constant written and oral communication; occasional reasoning, analyzing, and performing calculations.
  • Daily use of a computer and standard office equipment; occasional driving of a vehicle.

Supervision

This position reports to the campus non-credit Community Education coordinator or campus designee.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
