Primary Responsibilities
- Create courses aligned with learning outcomes and encourage student engagement.
- Foster a learning environment that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Use various assessments to evaluate student progress and inform instructional decisions.
- Support students in achieving their academic, personal, and professional goals.
- Collaborate with peers and contribute to the academic and professional communities.
- Prepare and deliver instructional materials for Music classes.
- Create and implement course syllabi, utilizing student learning outcomes.
- Record and submit grades electronically.
- Utilize instructional technology and a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Offer office hours to provide guidance and support to students.
- Administer programmatic evaluations and assess student learning.
- Attend departmental and college-wide meetings.
Qualifications
- Masters in Music (or related field)
- Knowledge of Blackboard Learning Management System
- Excellent communication skills, including oral and written
- Experience working with diverse groups of students and staff
- Strong understanding of assessment and its role in the teaching and learning process
- Effective time and task management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and achieve goals as part of a team
- Experience teaching in technology-lab environments
- Industry experience in music production, audio recording, mixing, or mastering
- Experience teaching adult learners in a higher education setting

Pay
The salary range is $800 - $943 per contact hour, based on degree level, and is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.
