Adjunct Faculty - Music

Primary Responsibilities

• Create courses aligned with learning outcomes and encourage student engagement.
• Foster a learning environment that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Use various assessments to evaluate student progress and inform instructional decisions.
• Support students in achieving their academic, personal, and professional goals.
• Collaborate with peers and contribute to the academic and professional communities.
• Prepare and deliver instructional materials for Music classes.
• Create and implement course syllabi, utilizing student learning outcomes.
• Record and submit grades electronically.
• Utilize instructional technology and a Learning Management System (LMS).
• Offer office hours to provide guidance and support to students.
• Administer programmatic evaluations and assess student learning.
• Attend departmental and college-wide meetings.

Qualifications

• Masters in Music (or related field)
• Knowledge of Blackboard Learning Management System
• Excellent communication skills, including oral and written
• Experience working with diverse groups of students and staff
• Strong understanding of assessment and its role in the teaching and learning process
• Effective time and task management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and achieve goals as part of a team
• Experience teaching in technology-lab environments
• Industry experience in music production, audio recording, mixing, or mastering
• Experience teaching adult learners in a higher education setting

Pay

The salary range is $800 - $943 per contact hour, based on degree level, and is in accordance with City Colleges approved salary scale.
