Job Overview

The Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching Mathematics and/or Statistics courses to a diverse set of students. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is committed to excellence in teaching and supports new pedagogical initiatives and active learning approaches.

Essential Functions

• Teach Mathematics and/or Statistics courses at the undergraduate level.
• Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities, such as participating in meetings and common tasks when part of a coordinated course team.
• Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or a Master’s degree in any discipline with at least 18 credit hours of graduate-level coursework in Mathematics or Statistics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present complex material to students unfamiliar with a subject.
• Ability to work and collaborate with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
