About the role
The Adjunct Faculty member will teach Landscape Design in the fall semester, meeting on campus on Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 8:50 pm. The course runs from August 31, 2026, to December 18, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Convey course material to achieve instructional objectives.
- If requested, complete a course assessment.
- Ensure course materials are available to students on the first day of class.
- Meet program-specific requirements for employment and supervision of students in externship or capstone courses.
- Maintain scheduled classes and notify the Academic Affairs Office of urgent absences.
- Be accessible to students via email or in person, returning assignments promptly.
- Hold office hours, at least 30 minutes per week, matching advising modality to teaching modality.
- Create and implement classroom lesson plans and learning activities.
- Teach specific hours or contact hours per week as assigned.
- Assist with student remediation.
- Use the College’s Academic Monitoring and Learning Management System to document attendance and grades.
- Communicate with students and colleagues using the College email account.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree preferred, Bachelor’s degree required.
- Prior teaching experience in college/university setting in the related field preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Current knowledge and skill in using information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database).
- Able to work with students with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Able to work independently and coordinate work with colleagues and peers.
