Adjunct Faculty in Dance

Location: Hattiesburg, Mississippi, United States

Employment Status: Part Time

About the Role

This position covers occasional adjunct teaching responsibilities in the dance program. This can include courses in dance history and theory, as well as in studio technique, depending on the candidate's area of expertise and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Instruction of assigned classes
• Provide interim and final grades for enrolled students
• Complete required assessment activities
• Provide data for General Education Curriculum assessment based on student achievement in the course as needed
• Be available to students through office hours (face-to-face or virtual)
• Collaborate with faculty as necessary
• Be responsive to students and director/staff via USM email
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• MFA or PhD in Dance or appropriate related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience in instructing dance techniques and other dance subjects as determined by the needs of the program
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience instructing dance in a higher education setting
