About the Role

The College of Liberal Arts Anthropology Department seeks an adjunct lecturer to teach two courses for Fall 2026 on a per-course basis at the UNH Durham campus.

Courses to Be Taught

  • ANTH 411 Introduction to Cultural Anthropology: Global Perspectives on the Human Condition
    • Teach one introduction to cultural anthropology course; lecture-based instruction and examination with some assigned activities (85 students)
    • Some non-grading support of student course assistant
    • Hold at least one (1) hour of student office hours per week
    • Course scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:10-10:00
  • ANTH 440A Medicine and Culture: Science, Technology and the Body
    • Teach one introductory medical anthropology course oriented in social studies of science and technology; lecture-based instruction and examination with some assigned activities (35 students)
    • Hold at least one (1) hour of student office hours per week
    • Course scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10:10-11:00

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Anthropology with focus in medical and/or cultural anthropology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous undergraduate teaching experience as sole or primary instructor is highly preferred
  • PhD or advanced candidacy in Anthropology in medical and/or cultural anthropology areas

Compensation

Pay Range: $5,000 per course
