About the Role
Adjunct faculty members at Colorado Mountain College assist students in their learning process by utilizing available staff resources, materials, facilities, and educational technologies. The college seeks innovative facilitators of learning who are passionate about teaching and extending academic opportunities to all students. While teaching is the primary responsibility, faculty are also encouraged to engage in scholarly endeavors and service activities to support student success.

Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses and evaluate student learning.
- Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi aligned with approved objectives.
- Maintain accurate student records and complete required course forms.
- Hold office hours and provide student consultation.
- Assist with advising, orientation, registration, and student recruitment.
- Engage in scholarly and creative activities to enhance discipline expertise.
- Participate in service activities, including campus committees, assessment, program review, and mentoring peers.
- Represent the college professionally within the community.
- Adhere to college policies, including timely submission of grades.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet institutional needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of a master’s degree in the specific field of the position or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credits in a related field (e.g., business, finance, management, or marketing for business roles).
- One year of full-time teaching experience or equivalent adjunct experience; higher education teaching preferred.
- Strong background in pedagogy and at least two years of teaching experience.
- Proficiency in computers, technology, and general office skills (e.g., filing, typing, customer service).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, research, analyze data, and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of diverse backgrounds.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must perform all duties within the State of Colorado and report work location accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational abilities in another language.
Special Conditions
- Successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle records report (if applicable).
- Adherence to all college safety and compliance policies.
- May require travel and evening/weekend hours.
- Potential supervision of student employees.
Working Conditions
- Constant sitting; occasional walking, standing, and driving.
- Occasional handling of objects, pushing/pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer and office equipment.
- Constant written and oral communication; occasional analytical and calculation tasks.
