Adjunct Faculty - Health and Physical Education - Department of Content Area Teacher Education
About the role
The College of Education and the Department of Content Area Teacher Education (CATE) at Rowan University are seeking adjuncts in Health and Physical Education and related areas. Positions require availability during the regular school day and involve teaching a variety of courses including online, face-to-face, or hybrid formats.
Responsibilities
- Teach a broad range of courses in Health and Physical Education and related areas
- Supervise teacher candidates
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the department's curriculum
- Participate in faculty meetings and other professional development activities
- Engage in scholarly activity consistent with the mission of the College of Education
Requirements
- Master's or doctoral degree in Health and Physical Education and/or related area from an accredited institution
- Masters or doctoral degree required by the start date
- Licensure in the state of New Jersey for teachers
- A minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience in P-12 settings
- Demonstrated ability in communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering academic achievement, social and personal responsibility, and social justice
- Demonstrated commitment to working in an environment devoted to collaboration, collegiality, professional development, diversity, scholarly inquiry, student learning, civic responsibility, and respect for all people
- Demonstrated commitment to working with P-12 schools
- A teaching/learning philosophy consistent with the mission of the College of Education
Qualifications
- Experience with the Danielson Framework
- Experience with performance assessment measures
- Experience teaching in postsecondary settings
- Experience teaching content in areas such as: technology in health and physical education, fitness, adapted physical education, secondary/elementary curriculum and instruction, motor development
Benefits
Rowan University provides a minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught, with a maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
Pay
The starting salary is determined based on qualifications and experience, with a minimum of $2,225 per credit.
Schedule
The schedule is flexible and determined by the needs of the department, with the possibility of teaching online, face-to-face, or hybrid courses.
