About the role
The Department of Nursing at Washington Adventist University (WAU) is seeking adjunct faculty members to support the graduate program. Applicants will join a pool of instructors whose applications may be reviewed periodically based on student enrollment needs.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Nursing Administration, Nursing Problem Solving Skills Development, Applied Research Techniques, Nursing Operations and Delivery Systems, Professional Ethics in Nursing and other courses needed.
- Serve as a supervisor for Nursing Administration practicum in a healthcare setting.
- Able to teach Graduate students in both traditional and online environments.
- Develop curriculum for assigned courses.
- Evaluate students based on criteria described in course syllabi.
- Provide clinical instruction and supervision.
- Demonstrate and foster excellence in teaching and service; values research.
- Promote Christian values in teaching methods and interactions with students.
- Offer academic advising to students and maintain regular office hours.
- Assist in departmental assessment of learning outcomes.
- Participate in University Preview and promote department activities.
- Attend departmental meetings and events.
- Support the University mission, visions, and values.
- Conduct research in a particular field of knowledge and publish findings in professional journals.
Requirements
- Doctorate (Ph.D) in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) required.
- Face to face and online teaching experience preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in Maryland.
- Current CPR Certification.
