About the role
This is a part-time (adjunct) faculty position in the Advanced Manufacturing & Computer Science department, teaching a full range of lecture and lab courses in the Construction Trades Program.
Candidates will be interviewed and hired on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year, with classes offered during the day, evening, and/or weekend, based on business unit needs.
Responsibilities
- Teaches lecture and lab courses in the Construction Trades Program, including construction measurements and calculations, basic construction language, construction industry orientation, and construction lab.
- Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
- Evaluates and grades students’ class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
- Maintains and submits student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines.
- Be available to students for coaching.
- Attends periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College relative to teaching duties and training and development.
- Performs student learning outcome assessments to make continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or significant related experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time building trades work experience.
- Completion of an apprenticeship program in the building trades.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent).
- Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Teaching experience is preferred.
Pay
The set rate of pay is $942.00/Equated Semester Unit (ESU).
