About the role
MassBay Community College seeks qualified part time instructors to teach Early College and/or Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Partnership (CDEP) courses in Business, Economics, Marketing, Management, and other business-related courses.
Responsibilities
- Teach Early College and/or dual enrollment high school students in area high schools, including but not limited to Framingham, Millis, Waltham, and/or Milford, or at our Wellesley Hills or Framingham MassBay campuses;
- Provide instruction during high school hours of operation when necessary;
- Work in collaboration with MassBay and/or high school faculty and others to prepare syllabi and develop curricula in alignment with the vision and needs of the College, high schools and early college and/or CDEP initiatives;
- Meet regularly at the posted class times and teach assigned courses using effective instructional strategies that promote student learning and preparation;
- Use appropriate assessment methods consistently and regularly to measure student understanding in line with accreditation and College standards;
- Engage in professional development activities to learn current practices concerning education generally as well as early college and/or dual enrollment initiatives;
- Utilize the appropriate learning management system for either the College or high school as needed;
- Attend meetings and submit reports or information as requested consistent with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement;
- Maintain excellent communication with students, department and division staff throughout the semester;
- Submit syllabi, midterm and final grade reports, attendance records, early alerts, and other reports pertaining to assigned courses by required due dates;
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by the College, high school, and/or early college liaisons consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and college policies, practices, and procedures.
Requirements
- Master’s degree related field. Five years of experience in a related business field may be substituted for a Master’s degree;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Community College experience strongly preferred;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body;
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning;
- Demonstrated ability to use information technology effectively.

- Experience working in a community college or similar environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
- Community College teaching experience strongly preferred;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with English language learners, adult learners, and at-opportunity students;
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement a curriculum that develops the reading, writing, and critical thinking skills of students and to use culturally responsive and inclusive perspectives;
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to promote and evaluate student learning;
- Demonstrated interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning.
