Adjunct Faculty-Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Job Summary

Somerset Community College invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty member for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Because the program operates in a hybrid format and students attend courses at both the Laurel Campus and the Russell Center, adjunct faculty are needed at both locations.

Job Duties

• Support student learning and success in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program by providing didactic and/or laboratory instruction, depending on the assigned course.
• Responsibilities may include:
• Preparing course materials
• Delivering instruction
• Assessing student learning
• Maintaining required records and reports
• Supporting accreditation compliance
• Contributing to ongoing program improvement

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited university or college
• Credentialed sonographer in the appropriate specialty area(s): RDMS or ARRT(S) credentialed (Abdomen/Obstetrics Gynecology)
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography
• Demonstrated knowledge of current sonography practices and standards
• Effective communication, organizational, and instructional skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university or college in a relevant field
• Prior teaching or clinical instruction experience
• Experience coordinating clinical education or working with student placements
