Job Summary
Somerset Community College invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty member for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Because the program operates in a hybrid format and students attend courses at both the Laurel Campus and the Russell Center, adjunct faculty are needed at both locations.
Job Duties
- Support student learning and success in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program by providing didactic and/or laboratory instruction, depending on the assigned course.
- Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing course materials
- Delivering instruction
- Assessing student learning
- Maintaining required records and reports
- Supporting accreditation compliance
- Contributing to ongoing program improvement
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited university or college
- Credentialed sonographer in the appropriate specialty area(s): RDMS or ARRT(S) credentialed (Abdomen/Obstetrics Gynecology)
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience in diagnostic medical sonography
- Demonstrated knowledge of current sonography practices and standards
- Effective communication, organizational, and instructional skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university or college in a relevant field
- Prior teaching or clinical instruction experience
- Experience coordinating clinical education or working with student placements
