Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in Theology or Religion curriculum, or General Education Religion curriculum
- Participate in integrated and strategic pedagogical efforts to meet student learning outcomes
- Occasionally assist religion department organizations
- When asked, participation in assessment of student learning outcomes
- Utilizing the instructional methodology required or requested by the University at the time of employment
- Mastery and use of the learning management system utilized by the University at the time of employment
- Honoring the university academic timelines for midterm and final exams and submission of grades
- Timely communication with students and the chair of the Department of Religion (responding to communication within 24 hours)
- Maintain appropriate record keeping for assigned classes and assessments as required by departmental guidelines
- Mentor students in education and career goals
Requirements
- Master of Religion from an accredited institution in the specific applied area
- Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population of students
- Prior university teaching experience or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, the university’s philosophy, mission, and core values
