Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teaching courses in Theology or Religion curriculum, or General Education Religion curriculum
  • Participate in integrated and strategic pedagogical efforts to meet student learning outcomes
  • Occasionally assist religion department organizations
  • When asked, participation in assessment of student learning outcomes
  • Utilizing the instructional methodology required or requested by the University at the time of employment
  • Mastery and use of the learning management system utilized by the University at the time of employment
  • Honoring the university academic timelines for midterm and final exams and submission of grades
  • Timely communication with students and the chair of the Department of Religion (responding to communication within 24 hours)
  • Maintain appropriate record keeping for assigned classes and assessments as required by departmental guidelines
  • Mentor students in education and career goals

Requirements

  • Master of Religion from an accredited institution in the specific applied area
  • Ability to communicate and work with a diverse population of students
  • Prior university teaching experience or equivalent experience preferred
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, the university’s philosophy, mission, and core values
