Adjunct Faculty - Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering

About the role

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Rowan University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions in a number of courses both at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Responsibilities

• Energetic and innovative teacher-scholars, committed to excellence in engineering education
• Teach courses that include Statics, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Water Resources Engineering, Surveying, Surface Hydrology, Watershed Principles, Water and Wastewater Treatment and Design, and Senior Capstone Design
• Teach senior/graduate electives in core areas of structural, water resources, geotechnical and transportation engineering

Requirements

• Earned at least a Master of Science degree, preferably a PhD, in Civil and Environmental Engineering
• Professional licensure is required to teach upper-level design courses

Qualifications

• Strong communications skills
• Able to work with multi-disciplinary student and faculty teams
• Able to teach in a project-based setting

Skills

• Ability to teach in a project-based setting

Benefits

• Part-time, non-tenure-track appointments
• Renewable contracts based on performance, departmental needs, and university and budgetary approvals

Pay

• Minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught
• Maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year
