Laurel Ridge Community College is accepting applications for adjunct, part-time faculty positions in Biology. Adjunct faculty teach a variety of day, evening, and weekend classes on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. This position may be located at the Middletown Campus, Fauquier Campus, or Luray-Page County Center.
Responsibilities
- Teach college-level Biology courses, including distance learning and on/off-campus courses during the day, evening, and weekends.
- Utilize instructional technology in teaching.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Biology or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate credits in Biology.
- Ability to use instructional technology.
- Unofficial transcripts must be submitted at the time of application. If degrees were awarded outside the United States, unofficial evaluations of foreign transcripts are required.
- If selected for hire, official transcripts (including official evaluations for foreign transcripts) must be submitted to the Office of Human Resource Management.
Qualifications
- Occupational experience in the field of Biology.
- Experience with Canvas or other online course management tools.
- College-level teaching experience; online teaching experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Pay
The credit hour pay range is $794.00–$1,375.50.
Schedule
Adjunct faculty teach a variety of day, evening, and weekend classes. Classes may be online, hybrid, or in-person and may be held at any of the college’s sites, centers, or campuses.
