About the Role

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a part-time Adjunct Faculty - Adult Education Instructor at the Fond du Lac campus. We are looking for an instructor to teach GED-related courses with availability on Monday afternoon/evenings (2:00 PM - 7:00 PM) and Tuesday morning/afternoons (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM). This position involves multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning, as well as ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. The role also includes providing regular student support and contact, or referrals to appropriate departments, to meet learners' classroom and career goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values.
• Establish a professional and safe learning environment.
• Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior.
• Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
• Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
• Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by FERPA.
• Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
• Provide timely verbal and written feedback to students to ensure continued growth and development.
• Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum as needed.
• Assist with student recruitment and positively promote College programs and services.
• Promote retention and student success through referrals to College services and resources.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
• Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices.
• Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies.
• Complete all required training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Adult Education, or Special Needs Education.
• Prior teaching experience or experience working with secondary, post-secondary, and adult learners preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to teach in multiple content areas.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
• Relevant certifications, licenses, and credentials may vary based on assigned course(s).

Desired Qualifications

• Two years of teaching experience.
• Experience with digital literacy or educational technology.
• Experience working with secondary, post-secondary, and adult learners.
• Ability to adapt teaching to multiple modalities including in-person, online, video conferencing (VC), and Teams.

Pay

Adjunct pay rates start at $39.85/hour.

Schedule

• Up to 12 hours per week (pending course assignment).
• Monday afternoon/evenings (2:00 PM - 7:00 PM).
• Tuesday morning/afternoons (9:00 AM - 2:00 PM).
• Starting Fall 2026.
