Responsibilities

  • Provides students with appropriate course materials (syllabus, calendar, policy statements or guidelines).
  • Adheres to course competencies in the preparation and delivery of quality instruction.
  • Provides appropriate and timely feedback.
  • Maintains a positive environment for optimum student performance.
  • Provides for and values appropriate student input.
  • Maintains accepted standards of achievement.
  • Maintains all records and documentation required for students and for equipment utilized in the course.
  • Inspects and makes minor repairs to equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards; refers major repairs to program manager or designated repair centers.
  • Coordinates and promotes educational services that strengthen workforce development in the community.
  • Collaborates with community organizations, secondary schools, and professional associations to promote the College.
  • Serves on advisory committees as requested.
  • Maintains a cooperative working relationship with College personnel.
  • Adds value to the achievement of the Division’s goals of sustainability.
  • Provides appropriate academic and career guidance to students.
  • May be assigned to develop and coordinate varied programming within the Division.
  • Establishes a professional development plan and participates in activities for self-improvement in keeping with the Division and College Mission.
  • Participates in appropriate activities that introduce new ideas or practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience performing duties as a Class A line worker in the electric or telecom industry.
  • A high school diploma and at least five years of utility industry and training-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license.
