About the role
The Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene (FSDH) seeks clinical adjunct faculty to deliver high quality education and evaluation to students in both onsite and external clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Teach clinical skills to undergraduate students in lab and clinical courses.
- Subject matter taught may include dental materials, pain management, instrumentation and radiology skills, infection control practices, patient assessment, and other delegable duties in Massachusetts.
- Delivers instruction in face-to-face onsite or external clinical practice settings.
- Guides students in understanding the Standards for Clinical Dental Hygiene Practice and the Dental Hygiene Process of Care.
- Affords students the opportunity to assess their competency in the performance of steps in the Dental Hygiene Process of Care including; vital signs, intra and extra oral exams, dental charting, periodontal charting and diagnosis using the 2018 Periodontal Classifications, treatment planning and implementation, pain management, instrumentation skills, delivery of preventive agents, and re-evaluation/assessing patient care outcomes.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who are currently licensed as a Dental Hygienist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
