About the Role

LACCD is accepting applications for Adjunct Real Estate Instructor positions for the 2027 Academic School Year. This posting establishes a pool of qualified applicants for potential openings across its nine colleges. Applicants may indicate their preferred college locations during the application process. Final assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

The role involves teaching Real Estate courses, fostering an engaging and inclusive educational environment, and supporting a diverse student population. Faculty may be required to teach in virtual learning environments using platforms like Canvas.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Real Estate courses offered by the department.
  • Promote an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment for students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Conduct classes in-person or in a virtual learning environment (e.g., Canvas).
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to support student success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment, or an Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment.
  • Valid real estate sales or broker’s license.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
  • Verification of Experience letters on letterhead stationery, detailing inclusive dates of employment, full-time or part-time status, and duties performed. If part-time, the number of paid hours worked per week, semester, or year must be included. (Required if selected for an interview.)

Qualifications

  • Qualified to teach Real Estate Appraisal (AQB certification preferred).
  • Experience with Los Angeles County Office of the Assessor appraisals and training methodologies.
  • Ability to teach online synchronous classes using Canvas.
  • Five or more years of teaching experience at the community college level (preferred).
  • Certification in Blackboard, Canvas, Course Compass, or other online teaching modalities (preferred).

Pay

Adjunct instructors are compensated at a rate of $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for an additional doctoral differential.
