Adjunct Assistant Professor, Radiology

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction to didactic, laboratory and/or classroom settings to promote student success within a community college setting.
• Supports and promotes the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and timely service.
• Collaborates with the Director, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum that cultivates the mastery of course content.
• Correlates clinical education with didactic education and evaluates student performance and learning.
• Demonstrates technological literacy and innovation in the delivery of instruction.
• Works collaboratively as part of a cohesive academic team.
• Aids in the implementation of college policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with the SF philosophy, mission, strategic initiatives, and procedures.
• Understands and enforces college and program policies.
• Participates in departmental meetings and collegewide committees as needed.
• Provides students with frequent, timely assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
• Appropriately documents student progress and maintains records including attendance, grading, and student learning outcomes.
• Develops methods that fairly and accurately assess students’ progress in achieving the stated learning outcomes/objectives.
• Maintains appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
• Assists and advises students with academic, clinical, and professional issues.
• Aids the Program Director with preparing reports for internal and external audiences.
• Assists in the recruitment activities of the program.
• Maintains current knowledge of radiology and educational methodologies within higher education via appropriate workshops, seminars, courses, and educational conferences.
• Maintains good standing with credentialing and licensing bodies.
• Strictly honors the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Provides service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Faculty must possess at least an associate's degree in radiography, biology or anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, histology, kinesiology/exercise physiology, medicine, pathology, pharmacology, physiology, or zoology;
• Be a registered radiologic technologist and be eligible for a professional license in the state of Florida.
