Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary: The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual-credit/early college classes.

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s of Science degree in the Biological Sciences ***AND*** 18 graduate hours in courses with an emphasis in Anatomy and Physiology.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications: Successful college teaching experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.

Job Duties

  • Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
  • Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting the course outcomes.
  • Maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
  • Maintain safe and secure laboratories with an emphasis in safety in all laboratory courses taught.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies, specimens, and equipment.
  • Perform other related duties within the department as assigned.
