Supervises production team members, directs daily activities, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements (if applicable), plant rules, safety regulations, attendance policies, and all other plant programs and procedures. Addresses employee performance and behavior as needed.
Responsibilities
- Supervises production operations to ensure compliance with methods, quality standards, safety regulations, production standards, and efficient equipment operation.
- Reviews production orders to ascertain product data (types, quantities, specifications) and plans department operations accordingly.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality meet specifications while exceeding customer expectations.
- Reviews production and operating reports; resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to minimize costs and prevent delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices; observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Establishes and maintains safety and housekeeping practices by communicating standards and conducting inspections to provide safe working conditions.
- Orients and trains employees in the safe, efficient operation of equipment.
- Provides counseling, coaching, and training to develop a fully qualified, quality-conscious workforce producing world-class products.
- Adheres to and promotes all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS & E) policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of strong supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility with the ability to lead salaried personnel.
- Experience in an automotive environment preferred; manufacturing experience required.
Schedule
- 3rd shift: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM–7:00 AM
- 2nd shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–11:00 PM
