Responsibilities

• Provide professional, respectful and ethical individual and group counseling to adults under general supervision.
• Function effectively with all other members of the clinical team as well as administrative and support staff.
• Attend daily clinical staffing.
• Assess patient needs and make appropriate referrals for dual diagnosis, mental health, physician, outreach programs, recovery houses and continuing care plans.
• Document patient progress in a timely and accurate manner, including treatment plans, progress notes, case presentation and discharge summary based upon SCVRD criteria.
• Complete annual continuing education requirements and population specific education.
• Attend agency trainings and perform lectures/outreach projects/programs as requested.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or a related field.
• Knowledge of counseling theory, addiction theory and recovery desired.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in providing vocational rehabilitation services to consumers receiving inpatient treatment for alcohol and/or other drug abuse/addictions.
• Dual License preferred, but not required: Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) and/or a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC).
